What incentives exist for Enterprise Zone businesses?
There are many benefits for companies located within Enterprise Zones. The hiring credit provides Enterprise Zone companies with significant refund opportunities. Your business may be eligible for refunds of up to $37,440 per qualified employee hired within the last eight years.
In addition, if you buy certain assets that are used within the Enterprise Zone, you may be entitled to refunds. Tax incentives exist for a variety of business practices and these may mean credits for you for years to come. We will analyze your business to make sure you maximize your refund opportunities.
How will Enterprise Zone Benefits Group determine if my business is eligible for tax refunds?
We will review your hiring practices and equipment and facility investments, all of which may qualify you for tax refunds.
What happens if you determine we are eligible for a refund?
We will complete all of the needed research to identify the amount of the refund and arrange for the necessary tax filings to claim the tax refunds.
Are these California business tax credits/incentives retroactive?
Yes, there is a four-year statute of limitations
in California on business tax credits/incentives, which means you are eligible to claim refunds for taxes paid during the previous four years.
What are your fees for your services?
Our fees are based on the amount of your tax credit. Any fees you are billed are not due until you have received the tax refunds from the Franchise Tax Board. If we determine that your business does not qualify for tax credits you owe us nothing. If we identify excess tax credits that carry forward, you will not owe us until the credits are claimed on your future tax returns.
Do you only identify wage/employment and economic development credits?
During our review of your tax and business situation we will look for several additional tax incentives, including R&D and Sales and Use. Any credits identified in these areas will be included in our tax credit summary to you.
